Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Turkey Day from the UK.

Believe it or not they don't celebrate Thanksgiving over here (I think it might even piss them off a little). Consequently I spent most of the day at work, but Yankee girl spent the day making a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. For those that miss our smiling faces, attached are some pictures. At the right I am cutting the turkey in preparation for the feast.

We just finished eating, and it was great. Yankee Girl cooked her first complete Thanksgiving meal including homemade noodles (my grandmothers would/should be proud). The meal was complemented with a bottle of champagne from the French woman's garage (see previous post about France). It will be topped off with square pumpkin pie (we didn't find a pie pan) once I can breath again. You can also see evidence of the square pie in the picture. In the other picture you not only get to see YGs pretty face, you can see proof of the noodles (can you tell I am proud of YG). With all of the food, we will be eating Thanksgiving food all weekend.

And, since there isn't any American Football on to watch over here, you get the pleasure of a blog post from me.

Well I think that my turkey and champagne are starting to kick in, so it's time for the couch.

Hooters to go?

Yankee and I went to Hooters last night to catch the Colts game. We only recently discovered that Hooters plays American sports on Sundays so this was our first game. With the time difference, we only got to see the first half of the game, but it was still great to see some 'real' football. So, while we were enjoying the game (and some buffalo shrimp and a couple too many beers) we saw that they have a takeaway menu. Anyway, I was just wandering, who the hell gets Hooters to go? Isn't the whole point of eating Hooters to be at Hooters??? Seriously, the food is good, but not that good. Just wandering.

I should mention, this wasn't my first trip to Hooters here. A couple of months ago I was craving some American chain restaurant food and suggested we go there. Well, it just so happened that we got there right before the Trent Bridge cricket test matches were wrapping up. So it was me, Yankee and about 150 drunk cricket fans (99.9% of them male) in Hooters. It was definitely interesting and entertaining at the same time. By the way, Hooters of Nottingham is the only Hooters in the UK.
